Wilma Abels Obituary

Wilma C. Abels, Age 71, passed away at 12:08 AM, Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Lima Memorial Health System.

Born August 26, 1939 in Fonde, Kentucky, Wilma was the daughter of William Riley and Marie Panzalee (Barley) Henderson.

She was married to Joe Wendel Wicker in 1957, and he is deceased.
She married Richard John "Dick" Abels in 1981, and he died April 19, 2010.

Surviving Wilma are a son, Jeff Wicker, two daughters, Pamela
(Charles) Archer & Angela Abels, two brothers, David (Connie) Henderson & Steven (Sherrie) Henderson, all of Celina, four sisters, Patsy McJunkin of Botkins, Dianna Gerber of Dayton, and Patricia (Barry) Baucher
& Sheila (Steve) Humbert of Celina, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Wilma is also survived by her mother-in-law, Rosemary Yaney of Celina, three brothers-in-law, Bob Perry of Celina, Jerry Abels of Denver, Colorado & Tom (Lynn) Abels of Rockford and two sisters-in-law, Tina (Steve) Temple of Celina & Mary Abels of Lima.

Her parents and four sisters, Gracie Parker, Betty Jean Rodriguez, Winnie Caldwell
& Mary Perry preceded her in death.

She had been employed at Hoffman Poultry, the former Lord's Department Store, and Rampsco Plastics, all of Celina.

Wilma loved her grandchildren and enjoyed crocheting.

She had been a resident at the Laurels of Shane Hill Nursing Center in Rockford for several years.

Wilma was a member of the New Start Community Fellowship Church in Celina and the Ladies' Ministry.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Tuesday, May 17th and 10-11 AM on Wednesday at the New Start Church. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 18th at the church. Pastors Johnny Mobley and Rick Brosher officiating.

Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens, near St. Marys.
