Virginia Bair Obituary

Virginia Lou Bair passed suddenly at Celina Manor on October 18.  Virginia was born February 10, 1929, the youngest child of William and Grace (Green) McGee.  She attended a one room school before graduating from Celina High School.  On February 12, 1950, she married Donald Dwight Bair in the Parsonage of Celina First Church of God.  Dwight survives at their residence.  They raised three children: Bruce (Rita) Bair of Cincinnati, David (Wayne Winters) Bair of Seattle, Washington, and Glenna Bair, who died in April of 2020.

She was the last member of her birth family, having been preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Howard, a sister, Florence, and an infant brother, John.  Also preceding her was daughter-in-law, Carolyn Bair.

In addition to her husband, sons, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Garwick, Virginia is survived by six grandchildren: Rachel (Ben) Levien, Ryan (Caitlyn) Bair, Laura Denning, Philip (Katelyn) Denning, Megan (Kemp) Lyons and Andrew (Rebecca Martin) Bair.  She also leaves seven great grandchildren: Sky, Imogen, Tilda, Henry, Darcy, Wyatt and Magnus, whom she enjoyed seeing in FaceTime visits.

Virginia would be the first to tell you that she didn’t care to cook, but she could turn out great pies!  A wizard with a sewing machine, needle and thread, she made beautiful clothes and perfect alterations.  She liked making things, and people, look their best, whether it was a flower arrangement or one of her family.

Virginia lived for her family and helped her children in every way she could, even when she didn’t necessarily agree with their intentions.  This support helped them grow up with an outward focus and concern for the welfare of others.

Her family looks forward to gathering at a later date to celebrate her life and her love for them.

Anyone wishing to remember Virginia's life is encouraged to consider a gift in her honor to an organization or cause that is important to them.
