Timothy Thurston "Timo" Obituary

Timothy Neal Thurston "Timo", age 73, of Celina, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at The Gardens at Celina, where he was a longtime resident.

He was born August 3, 1952, in Celina, to the late James Earl & Beulah Grace (Lewis) Thurston.

Tim is survived by a sister & brother: Linda Thurston of Miamisburg and Phillip (Nida) Thurston, who resides in the Philippines, 6 nieces & nephews: Julie Smith, Duane Thurston, Angie Works, Joseph Thurston, Theresa Freniere, and Derrick Orlik, and 2 half-sisters: Gaynella McGuire of Kentucky and Iona Brenneman of California.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers: Angie Thurston, Gary (June) Thurston, Vickie (Sonny) Byers, and Bruce Thurston, who passed away on September 11th.

Tim had many friends, and was well-known about town from working at the Orchard Tree Restaurant in Celina for many years, and riding around on his 3-wheel bicycle.  He had also worked on a variety of jobs through Cheryl Ann Programs / Mercer DD.

Tim also liked to be called "Timo" by his family and friends, and point-out that his initials were TNT, which stands for Dynamite.

When riding in a vehicle, Tim loved to remind and show others that he had a “Back Seat Driver’s License.”  He loved playing games with his visitors, especially "Sorry", and somehow Tim always won.

He was a collector of many things, including Puzzles, CDs, and DVDs, and had a love for Movies, Classic TV, and Western shows like Gunsmoke and Bonanza.

Many years, Tim's birthday would fall near the dates of the Mercer County Fair, which he loved to attend, especially the demolition derbies.

Tim was a member of the Celina Baptist Church.  He loved Gospel Music, singing Christmas Carols, and sharing his Christian beliefs.

Tim was a genuine person, and had a contagious laugh.  He was close with his niece Julie and special friends, Terry Rammel and Kim Chrisman.  Tim enjoyed life, and had much love for his family.
