Ruth Ann Steinbrunner, age 86, of Coldwater, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, at the Otterbein St. Marys SeniorLife Community.
Born on April 16, 1937, in Burkettsville, she was the only daughter of the late Vincent and Olive (Mueller) Steinbrunner.
Surviving are her brothers: Melvin (Jan) Steinbrunner of Coldwater, Roman (Diana) Steinbrunner of Minster, Fr. Jerry Steinbrunner of Cincinnati, and Ed Steinbrunner of St. Henry, a sister-in-law: Janet Steinbrunner of Coldwater, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers: Mark Steinbrunner, Walter Steinbrunner, James Steinbrunner, and a sister who died at birth, sisters-in-law: Rose Ann Steinbrunner, Lois Luebke Steinbrunner, Marilyn Steinbrunner, and Eva Steinbrunner, and two nephews.
Ruth attended St. Henry High School, and retired from the Huffy Bicycle Plant, where she had worked for nearly 40 years. She was one of the last employees when the Celina factory closed.
Ruth grew up in a family of seven boys, and would often play ball with them on a Sunday afternoon. She also played on a women's fast pitch traveling softball team.
Ruth was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, and working on projects for her home.
Ruth was a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds, and enjoyed following her nieces' and nephews' activities.
A very independent single woman, Ruth would help anyone when she was needed or asked.
Calling Hours are from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 10, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina.
Graveside Christian Burial Rites will follow at 11:30 a.m., at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coldwater, with Fr. Joseph Pasala presiding.
