Oscar Haynes Obituary

Oscar Lee Haynes, age 76, of rural Celina, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

He was born May 2, 1944, in Hindman, Kentucky, to the late Willard J. & Mayben J. (Boggs) Haynes.

On January 27, 1965, Oscar married the love of his life, Vicki Clements, who survives with their 4 children: Tom (Jennifer) Haynes of Fort Recovery, James (Sandy) Haynes of Celina, Melissa (Donald) Mazza of Columbus and Debra (Shannon) Wycuff of Portland, IN, 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Also surviving are a sister, Carol (Jerry) Noll of Celina, sister-in-law, Linda Haynes of Rockford, brothers-in-law: Ron (Mary) Clements of St. Henry and Jim Clements of St. Marys, and many nieces & nephews.

Oscar was preceded in death by a sister, Rouie (Charlie) Reed, brother, Bobby Haynes, and a grandson Eric Haynes, who died in 1989.

Oscar was a man of many trades, but his favorite was farming with his best friends, Greg and Eldon.  He also enjoyed spending time with all of his family and his cat, Callie.

Oscar also enjoyed gardening, mowing his yard, working 1000 piece puzzles, watching Dr. Pol, cooking soup beans and cornbread, and fixing anything he could get his hands on.

Most importantly, Oscar loved to talk to anyone that would lend an ear.
