Opal Lucille Barber, age 91, of Celina,
passed away March 24, 2013
at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
Born on July 28, 1921 in Mercer County, the daughter of the late Earl & Edith (Deitsch) VanTilburg.
She married John Cloyce Barber on November 21, 1939
and he preceded her in death on May 21, 1998.
Opal is survived by 3 Children, a Son: Don Barber of Mendon and 2 Daughters: Virginia (Robert) Hoenie of Del Rio, Texas and Marilyn Hoenie of Celina, as well as 15 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 2 Sons: John Robert "Bob" Barber, who died in 2005
and Richard M. Barber, who died in 2007, a Sister & 4 Brothers:
Cora Leininger and Raymond, Gerald, Ralph & Paul VanTilburg and 2 Grandchildren.
Opal was a Homemaker and retired from Huffy's in Celina, where she had worked
on the assembly line. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Church of God, Celina.
An excellent Pianist, Opal also enjoyed Crocheting.
Visitation will be held at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina
on Thursday, March 28 from 10-11:30 A.M.
with Services beginning at 11:30 A.M. Rev. Richard Van Horn will officiate.
Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
