Milton Davidson Obituary

Milton A. Davidson, age 89, of Celina, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020, at Celina Manor.

He was born December 23, 1930, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Franz & Pearl (Barnes) Davidson.

On December 24, 1961, Milton married Norma Jean Matthews, who survives in Celina.  They had only one child, a daughter, Shawn Kay Rammel, who preceded him in death on November 24, 2014.

He is survived by granddaughters: Lindsey (Tony) Bidlack and Aubrey Rammel of Celina, son-in-law, John T. Rammel of St. Henry, great grandson, Luke Bidlack, his daughters: Pebble Hernandez of Olympia, Washington, Pam Davidson and Peggy Batton, both of Portland, Oregon, a sister, Naomi Elder of Tulsa, Norma Jean's sister and brother: Margaret McBride of Brookville and James (Beverly) Matthews of Celina, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his daughter and parents, he was preceded in death by siblings and in-laws: brother, Marion Davidson, and sisters: Lottie (Carm) Avery and Pebble (Bill) Whisman, of Tulsa, and Norma Jean's brother and sisters: Mary Ellen Matthews, Glenn Matthews Jr., Marilyn Zizelman Stewart and Judy Menchofer.

Milton proudly served his country, enlisting in the U.S. Army before his 18th birthday.  After serving in the Army, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.  Milton served tours of duty in Japan, Germany and Vietnam.  He was stationed stateside in Texas, Washington, Arizona, Nevada and Alaska, with that being his last assignment.  Milton then retired after more than 25 years of military service.

He loved to fish and hunt, and thoroughly enjoyed his time in Alaska.  When the Davidson's left Alaska, they drove the Al-Can Highway home in their motorhome.  Twenty years later, they made a return trip to Alaska, once again driving the Al-Can Highway in their motorhome.

Milton was employed by the Mercer County Sheriff's Office after moving to Celina, and following his retirement there, worked for Don-Ray's in Decatur, Indiana, delivering motorhomes all across the United States.

Milton enjoyed going to Horse Shows to watch his daughter and granddaughters show their horses.  He and Norma Jean also loved camping and traveling in their motorhome.  He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #210 and VFW Post #5713, all of Celina.

Milton loved to play Poker.  He was a story teller - just ask his family and friends - Milton was ready to spin a yarn.  He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, family, and friends.

The Davidson family wishes to extend special thanks to the Celina Manor staff and State of the Heart Hospice for their wonderful care of Milton.
