Maxine Allen Obituary

Maxine E. Allen, age 93, of Celina, passed away at Celina Manor Nursing Home on February 22, 2012.

Born in Mendon on April 28, 1918, the daughter of William & Lenore (Bogart) Lampy.

She married Henry J. Allen on April 14, 1946 and he preceded her in death on October 19, 1999.

Surviving are two daughters: Shirley (Henry) Hoskins and Eunice (Rick) Hagen, both of Celina, six grandchildren: Laura (Jay) Zizelman, Greg (Amber) Hagen, Tim (Lorren) Hagen, Tony Hoskins, Michelle Regedanz and Candy Thomas and 10 great grandchildren.

Maxine is also survived by a brother-in-law: Homer Lentz of Findlay and a brother & sister-in-law: Hubert (Carol) Allen of Celina.

She was preceded in death by a brother: Emlyn Lampy and a sister: Marilyn Lentz.

Maxine was a 1936 graduate of Mendon Union-High School. She had
attended the Mendon First Church of God as a child and also the St. Marys Church of the Nazarene, and was a member of the former Gospel Mission Church in Celina.

A Homemaker, Maxine enjoyed cooking, sewing and reading. She also enjoyed gardening and home canning, as well as watching and feeding birds.

Funeral Services will be at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, February 25 at the Celina funeral home, with Rev. Jim Keiser officiating. Burial will follow at Neptune Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to State of the Heart Hospice.
