Max M. Young, age 91, of Celina, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013 at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
Born on September 15, 1921 in Allen County Indiana, he was the son of William Homer & Dessie (Keplinger) Young.
He married Virginia Sheets on June 21, 1963 and she survives, along with a Daughter, Kathleen (Jeffrey) Scott of Toledo, and Sisters-in-law, Alice Sheets and Audrey Schlotterer, both of Celina.
Preceding him in death were a Sister, Mary Henry, and four Brothers, Robert, John, Ralph and Sam Young.
A Veteran of World War II, Max served in the U.S. Navy and the Coast Guard. He was the Maintenance Superintendent at New Idea in Coldwater for many years.
Max was a member of Celina First Presbyterian Church, Celina Masonic Lodge #241, and Celina V.F.W. Post # 5713.
He was fascinated with cars and their inner workings. Max was a true "handyman", able to fix anything. He especially enjoyed electrical and woodworking projects.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, May 2nd at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina. Reverend Dave Dennis will officiate. Burial will be at North Grove Cemetery, Celina, with Military Rites by Celina V.F.W. Post #5713 and American Legion Post #210.
Calling Hours are 4:00 - 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 1st and one hour prior to services on Thursday, at the Funeral Home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to The American Heart Association or Celina First Presbyterian Church.
