Lulu B. "Lu" Jeffries, age 80, of Celina, passed away Friday morning, March 12, 2021, at The Gardens at Celina.
She was born June 27, 1940, in Coldwater, a daughter of the late Andrew F. Sr. and Lela E. (Kincaid) Black.
Lu and Robert L. Jeffries were married in 1959, and he preceded her in death on May 7, 1977. Their son, Timothy L. Jeffries, passed away March 23, 2016.
Surviving is their son and daughter-in-law: James and Sandy Jeffries, grandchildren: Shaun (Kacie) Jeffries, Derik (Stephanie) Jeffries, Bradley (Megan) Jeffries, and Megan (Donnie) Sites, and great grandchildren: Mason, Carter, Bridon, Kynlee, Brody, Briggs, Becca, Seth, Avery and Skylar Jeffries, and Reign and Jameson Sites, all of Celina.
She is also survived by a brother and sister: John (Darlene) Black of Palmetto, Florida and Betty Helen Woodward of Laquey, Missouri, and sisters-in-law: Sharon (Bob) Jordan of Kenton and Patti Jeffries of Celina.
Lu was also preceded in death by a brother and 2 sisters: Andrew Black Jr., Karen (Richard “Skip”) Ross, and Mary (Carl) Goodwin, and her mother and father-in-law: Clyde & Edith (Boise) Jeffries.
Lu was a Coldwater High School graduate. Over the years, she had worked at Mersman Tables, Plaza Lanes Bowling Alley, and the Dollar General Store in downtown Celina.
She enjoyed bird watching. Lu was very sociable, and enjoyed having a good conversation with family and friends.
Calling Hours are at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, on Tuesday, March 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, with the Funeral Service to begin at Noon. Pastor Don Clinger will officiate.
Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Those attending are required to wear masks, practice social distancing as much as possible, and follow the COVID-19 guidelines established by Governor DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health.
