Levaun M. Pleiman "Vonnie", age 89, of Celina, died at 1:43 P.M., Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at The Gardens at Celina Nursing Center.
She became the very first resident of the new Gardens at Celina, and had lived there since September of 2000.
Born on September 4, 1921 in Celina, Levaun was the daughter of the late George J. and Anna M.(Fullenkamp) Pleiman.
Levaun is survived by her sisters, Marilyn (Tom) Rable of Celina and Viola Luthman of Coldwater. She is also survived by thirteen nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
A lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church in Celina, Levaun was a member of the Legion of Mary. She was devoted to Mother Teresa of Calcutta. She enjoyed listening to the radio and taping segments to share with others. She especially enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She knitted dozens of baby afghans to donate to the Mercer County Right to Life organization.
Levaun had worked for several years at Cheryl Ann Industries in Celina.
Preceding her in death were a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and LeRoy Rosengarten, two brothers: Bernard and George Pleiman, a niece, Cathy Luthman and a brother-in-law, Henry Luthman.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, August 12th from
4-8 P.M. and Saturday, August 13th from 9-9:45 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, Fr. Ken Schnipke, C.PP.S., presiding.
Burial will be at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
