Karen A. Gehron, of North Star, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Village Green Healthcare Center in Greenville, OH, at 81 years old.
She was born June 10, 1941, to Merl and Lilly Irene (Strickler) Hoverman, in Willshire, OH.
Karen was married to Willard Ervin Gehron on December 27, 1959, in Willshire, OH. They resided in North Star, OH.
She is survived by four children: Michael (Christine) Gehron of Vandalia, OH, Christie (Bill) Rindler of Rossburg, OH, Deb Stewart of Rossburg, OH, and Annette Shroyer of Willshire, OH, and her sister: Sharon (Farrel) Krall of Willshire, OH.
Also surviving are Karen's eleven grandchildren: Kelli Simpkins of Jacksonville, FL, Stacie (Dustin) Cornwell of Dayton, OH, Beth (Alex) Hohler of Rossburg, OH, Bill Rindler of Troy, OH, Nicole (Carlton) Maughan of San Antonio, TX, Melinda (Andy) Ooten of Miamisburg, OH, Danielle Gehron of Columbia City, IN, Faith (Tanner) Smith of Van Wert, OH, Chad Rindler of Muncie, IN, Willard Shroyer of Willshire, OH, and Hope (Clint) Morgan of Englewood, OH, thirteen great-grandchildren: Dillon, Spencer, Bennett, Luke, Emma, Jackson, Landon, Chloe, Leigha, Jordynn, Paislee, Bellamee and Bailey, and sisters-in-law: Corda Leeper of North Star, OH and Margaret Miles of Greenville, OH.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Gehron, on October 19, 2020; her parents: Merl and Lilly Irene Hoverman; parents-in-law: Dan and Anna Gehron; a son-in-law: Jack Stewart; sister-in-law: Berniece and her husband, Lewis Rhoades, brother-in-law: Melvin and his wife, Marie Gehron, and brothers-in-law: Minor Leeper and Tom Miles.
Karen graduated from Willshire High School in 1959. She was retired from Corning Glass Works in Greenville.
Karen was a member of the former North Star Congregational Christian Church, then joined Greenville Missionary Church. She belonged to the North Star Fire Department Auxiliary.
Karen enjoyed reading, camping, and meeting other Corning Retirees for breakfast once a month. Most of all, Karen loved spending time with family, particularly her grandkids and great grandkids, and she would light up whenever they came to visit.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 21, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, with Pastor Gary Oser, officiating.
Burial will follow at Willshire Cemetery in Willshire, OH.
Calling Hours are from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 20, and before the Service at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
