Josephine E. McEvoy, age 91, of Celina, died on January 30, 2012 at Colonial Nursing Center in Rockford.
Born on March 20, 1920 in Toledo, Ohio, Josephine was the daughter of the late James Butler and Gertrude Elizabeth (Hatfield) Mowery.
Josephine married Harry Joseph McEvoy on February 1, 1941 and he preceded her in death on June 9, 1992.
Surviving are three daughters: Mary Alexander of Celina, Marty (Al) Grosjean of Toledo and Sue Thomas of Celina, 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a daughter: Patricia Winget, who died January 21, 2012, three grandchildren, five brothers: Harry, Paul, Eugene, Orville and Edward Mowery, a sister: Mary Tobin and a half sister: Betty Mowery Mitchell.
Josephine was a homemaker and also retired from the former Mersman Table Factory after 25 years of service. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Celina.
Visitation Hours are from 4-7 PM, Thursday, February 2nd and from 9-10:15 AM, Friday, February 3rd at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, February 3rd at Immaculate Conception Church in Celina, Fr. Ken Schnipke, C.PP.S., presiding. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in St. Marys.
