John Michael Evans

John Michael Evans, 43, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 28, 2022.  John was born on November 15, 1978 in St. Mary’s, OH.

He owned J&R Contracting LLC and had been in the construction industry for more than 25 years.  John was an animal lover and aspired to train dogs for veterans and others who suffered from PTSD.  John loved all animals and all people.

John is survived by two sons, Anthony Michael Evans (Briana), 25, of Jackson Center, OH and Logan Carter Michael Evans, 19, of Celina, OH; his mother, Lou Ann Hough, of Banner, KY; five sisters: Julie M. Bowers of Pittsburgh, PA, Teresa L. Cherin (Luciano) of Sebastian, FL,  Mary E. Jacobs (Del) of Celina, OH, Loma L. Moser (Danny) of Ocala, FL, and Barbara A. Pfeiffer of Celina, OH; three brothers: James W. Evans of Celina, OH, Carl J. Evans of Melbourne, FL and TSgt Jason A. Evans (Heather) of Dover, DE; twenty nieces and nephews, and his beloved service dog, Bear. 

John was preceded in death by his father, Warner Evans, step-father, Thomas R. Hough, one nephew, Quinn T. Stinson, and his maternal and paternal grandparents: Herbert and Julia Reed, and Carl and Iva Evans. 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 8th, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina.  Pastor Kevin Call will officiate.  Burial will follow at Neptune Cemetery.

Visitation for friends and family will be held from 2:00-4:00 and 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, March 7th, and one hour prior to services on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
