JoAnne Griggs

JoAnne Griggs, Age 87, of Mendon,
died September 15, 2012 at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.

She was born August 6, 1925 in Mercer County to Darst & Florence
(Proffitt) Dilbone.

She married John D. "Jake" Griggs on May 25, 1946 and he died February 7, 2011.


Surviving JoAnne are a Brother: Gordon ( Iris ) Dilbone of Florida and a Sister-in-law: Nova Dilbone of Harrod. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and great nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by
A Sister: Marty Griggs and 2 Brothers: Harold & Douglas Dilbone.

She was a member of the Mendon First Church of God and the Order of the Eastern Star in Rockford.
She graduated from the Lima Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.

She was a Homemaker and had worked as a Registered Nurse at the Manatee County Hospital while living in Florida. She also worked as a Lab Technician at the Rockford Canning Factory and did Babysitting at her home in Mendon.


Joanne has bequeathed her body to
The Ohio State University College of Medicine.


A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, September 22
at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Mendon, with
Reverend Dave Wilson officiating. A time of Fellowship and a Luncheon will follow the service at the Mendon First Church of God.


In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to
The Autism Society of Northwest Ohio or The Alzheimer's Association.
