James "Jim" Edward Wasson

James Edward "Jim" Wasson, Age 73, of Celina,
passed away at his residence.

He was the son of John & Josephine Ann ( Brandt ) Wasson,
who are both deceased.

Jim had three Brothers and a Sister: Joseph Alexander Wasson,
Robert Garcer Wasson, Jerome Wasson and Kathy Neff.

He is survived by his longtime friends, Art & Janet Bernard of St. Henry.

Jim had been a Radio Announcer at stations WERT and WCSM. He was perhaps most widely known
for portraying Santa for 50 Years in the Celina and St. Marys areas. Jim was also known as a
Show Promoter, organizing such events as the Celina Easter Egg Hunt, Variety Shows,
and the Children's Christmas Show at the Celina Movie Theater.

For many years, he served as an Umpire at Youth Softball games for the Celina Parks &
Recreation Department.

Jim was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Catholic faith.

Jim loved animals, both wild and domestic, and always looked out for them. He had a true "Heart of Gold", and would help anyone he could.

Calling Hours are at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina
from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. on Friday, May 24th, with a Memorial Service following at 3:00 P.M.
Military Rites will be conducted following the service by Celina VFW Post #5713 and American Legion Post #210.
