Frederick R. Gilleo, age 80, a resident of Oakland, Michigan, died Saturday, August 20th at his daughter's residence in Celina following an extended illness.
He was born January 2, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to Glen & Anna Larkin Gilleo.
Mr. Gilleo was a 7 year veteran of the Army Air Corps, having been stationed in Alaska.
He had been a Machinist at a carbide plant in Michigan, retiring at age 70 after 38 years of employment.
Surviving are 4 Children: Pam (Jerry) Fleck, Doug (Cindy) Gilleo, Willis Gilleo and Gene (Lisa) Gilleo, all of Celina; 6 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and 2 Sisters: Alma Gilleo & Helen Chandler, both of Michigan.
He married Nancy Podeski in 1984, and she died in October of 2009.
Also preceding him in death were a Brother: Gene and 2 Sisters: Caroline Robbins & Margaret Freeman.
Funeral Services are 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 23 at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in MENDON. Reverend Don Clinger will officiate.
Celina American Legion Post #210 and V.F.W. Post #5713 will be
conducting Military Rites at the Funeral Home following the service.
Calling Hours will be prior to the service on Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 - 6:00 P.M. at the MENDON Funeral Home.
