Fern A. Moorman

Fern A. Moorman, age 92, of Celina, passed away, Tuesday May 4, 2011 at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.

Born in Rockford, Ohio on December 28, 1918, Fern was the daughter of Clyde M. and Susan E. (May) Davis.

Fern married Paul Henry Moorman on June 19, 1943 and he died on March 19, 1990.

Fern is survived by a sister-in-law, Dorothy Davis of Celina and nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were two sisters, Violet (Herman) Daring and Daisy Davis and two brothers, Forest and Norman (Vivian) Davis.

In the 1940's, Fern and her husband owned and operated the Celina Roller Rink. They also owned and operated skating rinks in Piqua, Ohio and Phoenix, Arizona, where they lived in the 1960's and 70's. Fern played the organ at the rinks and also taught skate dancing lessons.

Fern was a graduate of Rockford High School and attended St. John Lutheran Church, Celina.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Saturday, May 7th at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating.
Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
