Eric John Topp

Eric John Topp, age 48, of Mendon, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle-semi accident at Celina-Mendon Rd. and U.S. Route 33.

He was born January 15, 1977 in Sidney, to John Carl Topp, who preceded him in death on November 3, 2001 at age 54 and Kathy Lynn (Drees) Topp, who passed away April 21, 2009 at age 57.

Eric and Stacy Lynn Uhrick were married on July 27, 2011, and she survives, along with his sons: Austin Michael (Jessica) Moore of Washington State and Nathan Eric Topp of Anna, and step-sons: Christopher Allen Bechtold of Mendon and Micheal (fiancée Neppisee Wagnild) Bechtold of Celina.   

Also surviving are a sister: Angela (Paul) Oen of Russia, brother-in-law: Rodney Berger of Botkins, mother-in-law: Chris Uhrick of Mendon and brother-in-law: Chad (Nikki) Uhrick of Celina.

In addition to his parents, Eric was also preceded in death by a sister: Patricia Louise Berger, who died at age 45 on February 21, 2017, an infant brother: Keith Topp, who died on April 12, 1970 at 3 months of age, and his father-in-law: Allen Uhrick.

A graduate of Botkins High School with the class of 1995, Eric worked at various facilities in the area.  For nearly the last five years, he was a robotic welder at Crown Equipment in Celina. 

Eric was always working, he was a "Jack of all Trades" and would help anyone, anytime.

Eric was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1292 in Rockford.  Outdoor activities were Eric's favorites, he enjoyed fishing, camping, grilling and four-wheeling.  

He was a fan of the Cleveland Browns, and liked to spend time working on his Corvette.  Eric was a family-centered man and loved spending time with his family and friends.   

Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 14, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Mendon, with Pastor Jake Boroff, officiating. 

Calling Hours are Wednesday, May 14, from 1-3:00 and 5-7:00 PM, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Mendon.
