Obituary

R. Douglas "Bucket" Shellabarger, age 65, of rural Spencerville, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022, at his residence.

Born December 6, 1956, in Lima, he was the son of Vivian Shellabarger Hodge, who survives in Celina.

Doug leaves behind his three children: Codi (Daniel) Walk of Missouri, Tonya (James) Fox of Lima, and Gavin (Brittany Young) Shellabarger of Venedocia, and seven grandchildren: Honey, True, and Rome Walk, James and Owen Fox, Alyza Jane Shellabarger, and Blaze Young.

Also surviving are his sister and brothers: Dale (Heidi) Moorman, Steve (Cindy) Hodge, and Sherri Hodge, all of Celina, and Gary Hodge of Rockford, and many nieces and nephews.

A 1975 graduate of Mendon-Union High School, Doug had worked at Huffy's and the Elgin Service Center.  For many years, he was a self-employed construction worker, and very recently retired from his business, Bucket Construction.

Bucket was an avid outdoorsman, and loved riding his motorcycle, fishing, hunting, and cutting wood.

He enjoyed building projects, and could fix anything.

Doug also loved playing with the grandkids and "helping them" get into trouble.
