Doris Maras

Doris Ann Maras, age 86, of Celina, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2020, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.

She was born September 30, 1933, near Mendon, to Glen Roether Ballinger and Catherine L. "Kate" ( Curry ) Ballinger.

Doris and John Maras were married on June 14, 1953.  John survives, along with their daughter, Jill Ann Maras.  Their son, Jon Alan Maras, passed away December 7, 2016.

Doris is also survived by two brothers and a sister: Ted ( Kay ) Ballinger and Doyle “Pete” ( Charlene ) Ballinger of Celina, and Linda Sapp of Mendon, and several nieces & nephews.

A brother-in-law, Larry Sapp, also preceded her in death.

Doris graduated as Salutatorian of her Neptune High School class.  She worked as a waitress at the former Connie's Coffee Shop in Celina, where she met her husband, John.  She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Celina.

A homemaker, Doris had been the caregiver for both her immediate and extended family.  She liked collecting antiques, enjoyed traveling, and loved the color blue.  Doris loved people, and would do anything for anyone.

Private graveside services will be held at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina, with Pastor Jon Exman officiating.
