David Michael Hausmann, age 63, of Mendon, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at OhioHealth Van Wert Hospital.
He was born November 20, 1961, in Grayling, Michigan. His parents: Theodore Hausmann and Marilyn Hamilton, are both deceased.
Surviving are his sons: Jeffrey King Hausmann of Mendon, Alex Hausmann of Utah, Michael Hausmann of California, and Kyle Adam Hausmann and Eric Scott Hausmann, also of Mendon.
Other survivors are 4 grandchildren: Lexy, Nina, Liam and Zeak, a brother, Dannie (Felix) Snyder of Virginia, a niece and nephew: Jason and Jenna, great nephews: Jason Jr. and Jaxon, a great niece, Amani, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Debra Lynn Peterson, nephew, Kristofor Peterson, and a great nephew, Michai.
Dave graduated from Lima Bath High School in 1980. He served in the U.S. Army for 15 years as a construction equipment repairman, then worked as a materials handling supervisor for the Washington State National Guard.
After returning to Ohio, he worked at CAPT in Celina in equipment repair, and for several years, was a service technician for Pools-n-More in Lima. Dave earned an Associate's Degree from UNOH in Graphic Design and Digital Multimedia. Currently, he was working as an in-home care provider for his son, Jeff.
An avid golfer, Dave was a member of the Celina Lynx Golf Club. He was a member of the Mercer County Sportsmen's Association, where he enjoyed target shooting. Dave enjoyed photography and woodworking, and was mechanically minded, enjoying designing, fixing and building things.
Dave was an insanely sociable, friendly man, who was easy to know.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, Wednesday, March 26, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Mendon. Services will begin at 5:00, with Pastor Jake Boroff, officiating.
Memorial Contributions may be made to any Veteran's group.
