Dale C. Howell, 73, of Celina, went to his heavenly reward on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Van Wert Health Hospital.
He was born January 31, 1947, in Mercer County, to the late George and Margaret (Grile) Howell.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Joyce Dale Howell, three daughters: Sharon (Tim) Thompson, Connie Howell and Brenda (Jason) Daugherty, and two grandsons: Keagan and Grady Daugherty, all of Celina.
Also surviving are his brothers and a sister: Joshua (Peggy) Howell, Earl (Alice Ann) Howell, Floyd (Agnes) Howell, and Phyllis (Larry) Bradburn, a brother-in-law, Steve Dale, and a sister-in-law, Diana (David) Ames.
He was preceded in death by three sisters-in-law: Norma Jean Howell, Wanda Howell and Portia Barley, and a brother-in-law, John Dale.
A 1966 graduate of Celina High School, Dale served with the U.S. Army in Okinawa during the Vietnam War.
Dale was a long-time farmer and livestock semi driver for Florence Livestock. After retiring, he started driving for the Amish, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
Dale was a member of the Lima Pilgrim Holiness Church. The church was his top priority.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and best of all, spoiling his two grandsons. He will be deeply missed by all.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 31, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Donald Nichols officiating.
Burial will be at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina, with Military Rites by Celina VFW Post #5713 and Celina American Legion Post #210.
Calling Hours are from 3:00-7:00 PM, Friday, October 30, and an hour prior to services on Saturday, October 31, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina.
Those attending are required to wear masks, practice social distancing as much as possible, and follow the COVID-19 guidelines established by Governor DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health.
