Carl E. Cook, Age 83, of Celina, passed away at his residence on September 5, 2012.
He was born November 7, 1928 in Rockford
to the late Grant L. & Lena Floe ( Snyder ) Cook.
He married Dorothy L. ( Gelhaus ) on November 14, 1953
and she survives, along with 5 Children: Bill ( Jill ) Cook,
Beth ( Steve ) Smalley, Carey ( Rob ) Luebke and
Katey ( Steve ) Eichler, all of Celina
and Sally ( Jeff ) Beam of Tipp City,
19 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild.
Also surviving are 8 Brothers & Sisters:
Bob ( Cinda ) Cook of Celina,
Don ( Sharon ) Cook of Columbus,
Clark ( Mary Alice ) Cook of Sidney, Ben ( Kathy ) Cook of Napoleon, Katie Crider and Liz Frushour, both of Bowling Green,
Sally Conley ( John ) Wannemacher of Troy and Becky ( Dan ) Dumbauld of Zionsville, IN,
A Sister-in-law: Betty Cook of Celina and
A Brother-in-law: Paul ( Monica ) Gelhaus of Dayton.
A Son: James F. Cook, preceded him in death on October 16, 1980,
along with a Baby Sister: Rosalyn, Brothers: Grant & Mike Cook
and Brothers-in-law: Bob Crider, Jack Conley and Father Louis Gelhaus.
He retired from the City of Celina, where he had been the Superintendent
of the Sewage Treatment Plant.
He was a Graduate of Celina High School. A Veteran of the U.S. Army,
he served in Germany during the Korean Conflict and was a Member of
Celina V.F.W. Post #5713, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church,
Knights of Columbus Council #1800 and The Companions of
the Missionaries of the Precious Blood.
He served on the Board of the Mercer County Council on Aging
and volunteered there, as well as for the American Red Cross.
He enjoyed Woodworking.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 8th
at Immaculate Conception Church in Celina, with burial following at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina.
Calling Hours are from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, September 7th
and 9:00 to 9:45 A.M. on Saturday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth
Funeral Home in Celina.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the
St. Peter Neurological Center in Burkettsville
or the Immaculate Conception School in Celina.
