Allen A. Uhrick, age 67, of Mendon, passed away Tuesday morning, September 11, 2018, at Mercy Health - St. Rita’s Medical Center, in Lima.
Born March 11, 1951, in Blackford County, IN, he was the son of Harry A. & Ruby I. ( Reynolds ) Uhrick, who are both deceased.
Allen married Chris Petering on May 31, 1975, and she survives, along with their son and daughter: Stacy ( Eric ) Topp of Mendon and Chad ( Nikki ) Uhrick of Celina, and four grandchildren: Christopher & Micheal Bechtold and Austin & Reagen Uhrick.
Also surviving are a brother: Robert ( Vicky L. ) Fields of Mendon, two step-brothers: Charles ( Joyce ) Uhrick of Indianapolis, IN and Larry ( Mary ) Uhrick of Morrisonville, IL, a brother-in-law, Mike Seyler of Union City, IN, and a sister-in-law, Sandy Uhrick of Circleville, OH.
He was preceded in death by a sister & two brothers: Isabelle Seyler, Ray Fields, and Orlie Uhrick.
A 1971 graduate of Mendon-Union High School, Allen went on to earn an Associate Degree at ITT Tech in Fort Wayne. Allen had served as a Volunteer Fireman for the village of Mendon for many years.
After 42 years of service, Allen retired from Federal Mogul National Seal in Van Wert, where he had worked as a Punch Press Operator.
Allen enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 15th, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Mendon, with Pastor Jason Boroff officiating. Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery.
Calling Hours are from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 14th, and one hour prior to services on Saturday, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Mendon.
