Robert H. Beougher, age 89, passed away at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown on Wednesday, April 6, 2011.
He was born in Celina on January 14, 1922 to Chester O. and Edna
(Springer) Beougher. His wife Nellie (Keiser) Donovan preceded him in death on May 27, 1975.
Brothers Carl, LeRoy, Lawrence and Hubert Beougher and sisters
Opal Leloup, Cecil Norris, Mamie Chilcoat and Florence and Elsie Beougher preceded him in death.
Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a heavy machine gunner in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and the Ardennes in Central Europe.
He also spent time in Okinawa, Japan.
One of the many jobs Bob held was working on the construction of the Hoover Dam in Nevada, he also was a railroad worker and was employed at St. Marys Iron & Steel.
Bob attended Light House Community Fellowship Church In Celina. He enjoyed playing the harmonica and whittling. Bob was known for his home remedies for various ailments, his home cooking and his sense of humor.
Rev. Tony Richmond officiated at graveside services at Swamp College Cemetery at 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Military rites were performed by the the Celina American Legion Post # 210 and the Celina Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 5713.
