Rev. Laffin Obituary

Reverend Kenneth E. Laffin, Age 80 of Lima, died 8:05 A.M., Monday, April 18 at his residence.

He was born July 8, 1930 in Mercer County to L. Russel & Eddith H. (Fast) Laffin.

Married to the former Elsie Skiles on August 3, 1951, the couple would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this summer. Elsie survives in Lima.

Also surviving are 2 sons, Keith Alan ( Lori ) Laffin of Bedford, OH, Brian Dwight (Alicia) Laffin of Brunswick, OH and a daughter, Brenda (Jeff) Harrison of Lima.
Eight grandchildren, a great grandchild, two step-granddaughters and a step-great-grandson survive.

Two brothers, Jerry (Nancy L.) Laffin of Coldwater and Robert (Nancy K.) Laffin of Celina also survive as well as an Aunt, Neva Everett of Celina.

Rev.Laffin was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter.

He was an active Church of God Minister since 1951, and served at the following Churches of God in Ohio: Mt. Tabor and Fairview in Celina, Sugar Ridge in Convoy, Olive Branch in Rockford, Union Chapel in Bryan, and the Ney Church of God; and also the Church of God in Brackenridge, PA.
He was active at the Church of God camp - Camp Otyokwah, in Butler, Ohio for many years. He also served at the Swan Creek Church of the Brethren in Delta, OH. He enjoyed being a school bus driver for 46 years for various school districts. He served as the Chaplain of the Volunteer Fire Department in Ney for many years.

Rev. Laffin was always a farmer at heart and was able to perform repairs on cars and all kinds of machinery. He also enjoyed carpentry and woodworking.

Rev. Laffin was a member of the College First Church of God in Findlay. He was a 1948 Graduate of Celina High School and a 1958 Graduate of Ft. Wayne Bible College.

Services are 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 22 at Mt. Tabor Church of God, Celina with Reverend David Green officiating.

Burial will be at Mendon Cemetery.
Calling Hours are 2:00 - 8:00 P.M., Thursday, April 21
at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina and 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. on Friday at the Church.
