Barbara A. Springer, age 79, of Celina, passed away Monday morning, August 12, 2019, at her daughter Kelly’s residence in Celina.
She was born May 25, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents, Edward and Sally K. (Kowalski) Guzowski, and step-father, Joe Witczak, preceded her in death.
Barbara married Donald C. Springer on September 5, 1959, and he preceded her in death February 10, 1993.
She is survived by four children: Karen M. Springer of Columbus, Donald C. Springer Jr. of Celina, Michael E. Springer of Kerrville, TX and Kelly A. Springer of Celina.
Two grandchildren: Brittany Springer and Nolan McRavin, and two great-grandchildren: Lonnie and Victoria Stidham, also survive.
Barbara was a homemaker, and had retired after working 13 years as a nurse's aide at Briarwood Manor in Coldwater.
A member of Immaculate Conception Church in Celina, Barbara enjoyed walking and reading as pastimes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Celina, at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 16th. Fr. Ken Schnipke, C.PP.S., will preside. Burial will follow at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina.
Calling Hours are 2 - 4 and 6 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 15th, and 9:30 - 10:15 a.m on Friday, August 16th, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
